David Harris

Managing DirectorDavid is the Founder and Managing Director of Cadarn Capital. He is responsible for promoting our Fund Partners to investors. David was previously a Partner at the Alternative Investment Fund Manager, Frostrow Capital LLP. He was responsible for the distribution of 12 listed funds with assets of c.£18bn, including Pershing Square Holdings, Ltd., Finsbury Growth & Income Trust PLC, Worldwide Healthcare Trust PLC and The Biotech Growth Trust PLC, having grown the stable from 3 listed funds in 2013. David has worked across a broad range of investment strategies, in each case working to successfully grow listed fund partners, narrow discounts and/or maintain premium market ratings. He has worked on 4 IPOs and has helped raise c. £1.6bn in the secondary market primarily via regular tap issuance since 2013. Prior to Frostrow, David worked at Morgan Stanley in the Institutional Sales and Trading Senior Relationship Management (SRM) team covering institutional pension, insurance, asset management and hedge fund clients. David graduated from King’s College London with a BA (Hons) Degree in History and an MA in Intelligence & International Security. After university, he commissioned into the British Army with the Welsh Guards and completed an operational tour of Afghanistan. David holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) qualification, the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and the Certificate in Investor Relations (CIR). He is a Trustee of the Mark Evison Foundation.

DirectorAmul Pandya has worked in the investment industry for over 12 years initially as a sell-side equities analyst before transitioning to fund distribution in 2012. He has raised capital across asset classes and investment styles, both as an in-house and third-party marketer. His experiences includes UCITS funds, institutional closed-ended, and listed investment funds. Amul graduated from the University of Southampton with a Degree in Law before working in politics for a number of Westminster-based Think Tanks. He is a CFA Charterholder.

DirectorWill is a Director of Cadarn Capital, having joined in 2023 to assist in promoting our Fund Partners to investors. Will previously spent six years at Frostrow Capital LLP, where he was a Senior Associate within the Distribution Team and responsible for the marketing and promotion of their Investment Company clients. Will holds a degree in Economics, the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), and has passed level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.

DirectorTom is a Director of Cadarn Capital. Tom left Jefferies in 2023 having spent the last ten years in listed fund sales, working on multiple IPOs and secondary transactions that have raised more than £7bn. He was voted No1 Alternative Investment Fund Salesman in the 2023 Institutional Investor Survey. Tom has worked in the investment industry for over twenty years, initially as an analyst and portfolio manager on the buyside, before moving to the sell side in 2013. His client base is broad, with strong relationships across institutional, private wealth and family office investors.

Senior ConsultantLucy is a senior communications professional, with over 20 years’ experience. Specialising in strategic communications, thought leadership, press office management and crisis management, Lucy has multi-sector experience, but mainly focus on financial services and professional services. She has worked with Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management, Alpha FMC, Hargreave Hale AIM VCT and Valcon, a European consultancy. With excellent national and trade media contacts, she is a strong business writer and manages content development programmes for clients, including white papers, op-eds, press releases, case studies and social media content. Prior to becoming an independent PR and communications consultant, Lucy was a director at city PR firm Hudson Sandler and before that deputy managing director of Soho-based Buffalo Communications. Brands she has worked with include Cap Gemini, Fujitsu Services, the ICAEW, Brewin Dolphin, Fauchier Partners, Tyndaris, Brown Advisory and Shell.

Associate DirectorGeorge is an Associate Director of Cadarn Capital. As a specialist in investment company communications, he joined in 2025 to primarily focus on enhancing the visibility of the Cadarn’s Fund Partners within the UK’s business and investment media. Previously, George spent five years at Burson Buchanan, a leading financial PR agency, where he played a key role in elevating the profile of the firm’s investment trust clients across UK media outlets. Before that, he spent several years capital raising at an independent placement agency, specialising in hedge funds and private market products within the alternatives space.

Business Operations ManagerGemma graduated from Loughborough University with a BSc Degree in International Business Studies, before working as an Executive Assistant at Merrill Lynch. From 2007, Gemma worked in the television industry as an Entertainment Presenter for ITN Productions and a Continuity Presenter for ITV2 and the Disney Channel. More recently, Gemma was a Commercial Manager for lifestyle brand, Muddy Stilettos.

Senior AdviserBen is a Senior Adviser. He graduated from Aberdeen University in 1993 with an MA Hons in Economics before joining Hargreaves Lansdown on their investment help desk. He worked his way up through the firm via the Marketing teams to start the set-up of the Vantage Investment Platform in the early 2000s. He left the largest investment platform in the UK with over £100bn in assets and c. 1.25million clients in June 2018, at which time he was Head of Vantage Development, in order to use his expertise to assist other firms and spend more time with his family. Ben was responsible for negotiating with and dealing with all third party asset managers for the open and closed-ended investment products offered to Hargreaves Clients. He is an expert in the positioning and marketing of investments to individual investors, whilst focusing on the pricing of those products to ensure the most successful asset raising. He has worked closely with product providers over the years through which he has an expert understanding of what is required to make investments a success in the UK market. He has an excellent network of senior individuals across platforms and product providers to ensure his expertise is unrivalled. At Hargreaves Lansdown he was responsible for the negotiating of price to ensure Hargreaves lead the market versus its competitors, as well as which Ben was the no.1 deal maker in the market in terms of acquiring large closed books of businesses from both open and closed ended companies - e.g. Jupiter, BlackRock, JPM, RIT. As the first point of contact for external managers to deal with Hargreaves Lansdown, Ben also lead the way on the development of new products to ensure the best managers were accessed by clients at the best price.

Senior AdviserSimon has worked in the investment trust and investment company sector for most of his career. With a background in UK equity fund management, he started as a graduate trainee at Kleinwort Benson, where he went on to manage two investment trusts and was subsequently responsible, as Managing Director of Kleinwort Benson Investment Trusts, for the development of Kleinwort Benson’s (and its successor companies including Allianz Global Investors) closed end fund businesses. In this capacity he established and launched investment companies investing in Emerging Markets, UK Equity, India and Europe, and a range of alternative asset trusts investing in mid-term endowment policies. He moved to BlackRock as Head of Investment Trusts in 2011 overseeing the company secretarial, sales and marketing and third- party administration for the trusts. Alongside successful fundraisings in the Frontier, Commodities and North American markets, he re-structured BlackRock’s investment trust marketing activities, with a broad range of shareholder communication initiatives, which led to private shareholder ownership of the trusts exceeding 30% for the first time. The stable of trusts achieved record secondary issuance in 2021, with significant demand from self- directed investors. Simon retired from BlackRock in June 2022. Simon graduated from Oxford University with degree in Modern History and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. He has previously held FCA controlled functions CF30 (Customer), CF1 (Director), CF21 (Investment Adviser), CF23 (Corporate Finance) and CF27 (Investment Management). He has been a director of two FCA regulated fund management companies, two debenture financing vehicles and a non-executive director of seven investment trusts. Simon is an independent non-executive director of Shires Income PLC.

He serves as Chief Investment Officer of the fifth-generation Max-Berlinicke-Erben family office in Berlin where he oversees a multi-asset portfolio with a particular emphasis on asset allocation and manager selection. With over 35 years of experience spanning global financial markets and an international career, Harald brings a rare combination of institutional expertise, entrepreneurial acumen, and deep practitioner knowledge across the full spectrum of traditional and alternative asset classes. In the 2000s, Harald was Partner and Head of Structured Credit Investments at New Bond Street Asset Management in London, a boutique fund manager he co-founded with peak AuM of €8 billion and a total staff of over 30. From 2014 until 2023, he worked as Director for Alternative Investments at Scope Group, a leading European rating agency and fund analysis provider. More recently, Harald has leveraged his extensive network and comprehensive industry insight by acting as Adviser to several independently-owned investment management boutiques — firms he has known, invested with, and followed closely over the years. He has been a CFA charterholder since 2003 and is a long-standing volunteer and consultant at the CFA Institute in Charlottesville, USA. Known for his independent thinking and practitioner’s perspective, Harald is a leading financial influencer who makes complex investment topics accessible to a broad audience while maintaining institutional‑grade depth.
